Sunday Morning Worship Schedule |
The Divine Liturgy is held every Sunday beginning at 9:30 AM. This service is preceded by Orthros beginning at 8:30AM. A variety of additional services are held during the year for feasts, holidays, and various saints. These dates and times and can be found on the Calendar or in The Messenger or elsewhere on this website. |

The Choir is a volunteer group of men, women and youth under the direction of the choir director who lead and inspire the congregation in singing the responses and hymns during the Sunday Divine Liturgy, special worship services (like Memorials) and other services (such as Salutations during Lent, and the “Lamentations” of Holy Friday). Rehearsals are every Wednesday evening from September-May. New members are encouraged to join at any time. |

Byzantine Chant and Liturgical Ensemble |

The Young Men's Byzantine Chant Group and the Young Women's Liturgical Ensemble are two separate groups under the guidance of the choir director, which practice regularly and sing traditional Byzantine hymns in English, along with other suitable western sacred music. Open to teenagers and young adults. |

Men and women who learn the traditional Byzantine chant of the Orthodox Church at periodic workshops and occasional practices. They gather on Sunday morning to chant and read during the Orthros (Matins) service. They also chant and read at other services – such as Great Compline (during Lent), and the many services in Holy Week. |

Open to anyone interested in reading publicly the psalms, epistles and other Biblical texts in the worship of the Orthodox Church. Readers are especially needed on Sunday mornings at the Divine Liturgy for the epistle, and during Great Lent and Holy Week. |

A group of members who enjoy the worship services of the Church and wish to assist others, greet visitors, distribute worship related materials, and take care of a variety of needs (including emergencies). |

Boys (grades 4 and up) serve in the altar during worship and assist the clergy with processions, incense, cutting the altar bread, and other needs. Cleaning of the altar area is done at least once a year. |

Preparation of prosforo (altar bread) for the Divine Liturgy, kolyva (boiled wheat) for memorial services, Vasilopita in January, and sweet bread for Artoclasia services. A schedule is set up for weekly baking of the prosforo, and periodic seminars offer hands-on instruction in these traditional crafts. |

Sunday sermons are taped each week and reproduced for distribution to shut-ins, college students, the elderly, Church School teachers, and other interested persons. Individual cassettes can be purchased for a small donation. These sermons are also available on this website. |

Intercessory Prayer Group |
|
A small group of concerned parishioners who gather to pray twice a month on Thursday mornings for personal, family, community, national and global needs. Under the direction of the clergy, the service includes the Trisagion prayers, prayers from the Liturgy and from the Church Fathers & Saints, time for meditation and intercession. |

A spiritual discipline that introduces contemplative prayer through resting in God. Training includes literature, tapes, guidance, and communal support St Mary’s has a Centering Prayer group that meets approximately every two weeks on Saturday mornings at 10:15. |
