Doria is a Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Minnesota. She has also completed coursework in Basic Theology from St. Stephen’s Course of Studies in Orthodox Theology. Doria formerly served as the Youth Director for 20 years. She was hired part time in 1993, full time since 1998.
Doria leads coordination for:
- Visitation Ministry
- Summer and Family Camps
- Junior and Senior High Retreats
- Hogar Mission Team
- Assists in coordination of the Church School
The objective of Ministry Development is to create an organized framework of ministry structures to facilitate parishioner’s ability to answer the call and to share their God-given gifts to fulfill the mission of the faith. Liaison to present new ministries and assisting in the coordination of our collective ministry efforts and facilitate development and implementation based on needs of our parish and community. The first line of responsibility is to assist Fr. Paul with calendar, sacrament/Metropolis paperwork and in-reach ministry needs. The daily duties are to answer the phones, greet visitors, and schedule St. Mary’s calendar.
Jon is originally from Pella, Iowa, where he attended St. Nicholas Orthodox Church. In May of 2017, he finished his Masters Degree from the University of Northern Iowa studying Leisure, Youth, and Human Services. He has been a summer camp counselor abroad in Taiwan and completed his internship as a day camp director in the Netherlands. Jon has been involved with the St. Mary’s Summer Camp Program for 17 years (11 years as a camper and 6 as a counselor) and a counselor with St. Mary’s Family Camp for 4 years. Jon is excited about the opportunity to work with the youth and families at St. Mary’s GOC and help them grow closer to Christ.
